What is the motor?

In a broad sense, a "motor" is a power device. However, in this context, we will be discussing the "electric motor," which converts electrical energy into mechanical energy.

An electric motor is a device that utilizes electrical energy to create an electromagnetic field and uses the interaction of the field (attraction and repulsion) to generate mechanical energy. The rotation of the motor is achieved by switching the polarity of the electromagnetic field at appropriate time intervals.

Single-phase motors with only one electromagnetic field can pose problems. To overcome this, a three-phase motor structure, consisting of three electromagnetic fields, is commonly used to achieve stable rotation.

By adopting a three-phase motor structure composed of three electromagnetic fields, the issue of timing for magnetic pole switching, which exists in single-phase motors with only one electromagnetic field, can be resolved. Furthermore, stable rotation can be achieved.

In conclusion, an electric motor is a device that converts electrical energy into mechanical energy. It utilizes the interaction of electromagnetic fields to generate motion. The implementation of a three-phase motor structure ensures stable rotation by addressing the limitations of single-phase motors.
